- DRAW Membership Card
- DRAW's monthly newsletter, DRAWing Attention
- An opportunity to serve the organization in a number of ways
As a DRAW member, how can I take advantage of the opportunity to serve DRAW and make a difference in the lives of those who need assistance?
DRAW is a volunteer organization that remains strong due to the wide range of contributions from the drag racing community. Some volunteer their time, some volunteer their resources and some donate financially. Perhaps the easiest way to determine how you can serve DRAW is to begin by becoming a DRAW member.
Why is it important to become a DRAW member?
- Members receive DRAW's newsletter eleven times a year, every month except January. Each issue contains heart-warming informative messages and interesting reports on regional and national activities from our Area Coordinators and Motorcycle Coordinator. If you are a new member, the newsletter is a great way to "get in the loop" and learn about DRAW. We report on results of fund-raising activities and announce upcoming fund-raising events. We print letters and correspondence from DRAW members and also publish the names and telephone numbers of DRAW board members, officers and area coordinators so members know whom to call to report an incident or injury.
- More importantly, each newsletter contains a list of Injured Racers, Cares & Concerns and Sympathy. The injured list includes the name, address and brief information on each injured racer. Cares & Concerns include the name, address and brief information of those who have been injured outside of racing or who are ill. The Sympathy list includes those in the racing community who have passed away.
- We encourage all DRAW members to take an active role in sending cards and letters to those on the lists published each month in the newsletter. The response we receive from the recipients of this correspondence is overwhelming. With just one card and a message from the heart, you can brighten the day of someone struggling in the aftermath of a drag racing incident, recovering from an illness or coping with the loss of a loved one.
